Traditions, Holiday Sing and Book Exchange

It was a fabulous last week of traditions.  We hope you enjoyed your Snow Globe Ornament Gift from your 4Ker.  The sing was a HIT!  We practiced every day and really were excited to get on stage and sing for you.  Here are a few snap shot that were sent in.

The book exchange was exciting.  Giving a gift in exchange receiving one.  We have some great things from the giving tree for the classroom, too!

Traditions

It has been wonderful at Show and Tell time hearing different family traditions.  In class we have discussed Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa and St. Lucia.  We also found out that some families do not celebrate and holidays.

Monday, we read A Wish To Be a Christmas Tree, and created a tree with different size triangles.  These will be on display at our Holiday sing, Wednesday, December 19, at St. Joseph's Church lower level stage area, 5:30 pm.

Tuesday we worked on our coloring, counting and colors with dreidel's.  Ask your 4Ker about Sammy the Spider and Hanukah.

Wednesday, for Kwanzaa we decorated our gift bags for our parent gift.  Hope you enjoy them.  We finished the week with stamp painting, making wreath's for our classroom and learning about St. Lucia.

The Bear Facts & Silverwood Trip

This week we wrapped up our Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.  We read more versions of the story and did some more comparison and contrasting of the stories.  On Monday, we drew and wrote our name for our person book.  Tuesday we worked on positions, I hope you read it together at home!  Use the bear and book to review shapes, colors and placements.  During playtime we created animal feeders with bagels, Crisco and birdseed to hang at Silverwood.  The kiddos recreated and told the story of the 3 Bears, on Wednesday.

Silverwood Field trip was the highlight of the week and started our next unit of traditions.  The book of focus is called, Night Tree.  Enjoy our photos of our trip.  We hung our feeders, had hot coco and snack and sang songs with Jack, playing the guitar.
