No School Today or Tomorrow-See You Friday!

Well, there has been some confusion about classes today. The is no 4K for either class due to the school delay. So no AM  AND no PM classes today (2/27). Also, don't forget that we do not have class tomorrow either (2/28). We will see your smiling faces on Friday (3/1)!

Friends are Fun!

We started our week with a special picture of our hand prints. Did you know that if you put your hands together just right, you can make a heart shape? And guess what? We got to decorate these pictures with the medium of our choice and any way we wanted! It was fun to get to be creative in our own ways!

Tuesday we made paper dolls that look like us for a poster in our hallway that says, “Mittens Warm Our Hands...Friends Warm Our Hearts!”

We visited with all the friends in our class on Wednesday when we went around getting signatures in our autograph books. These should be nice keepsakes for you.

Friday we made friendships bracelets using beads. We had to make a pattern and then we exchanged the bracelets with our classmates.

SPRING CONFERENCE TIME!
It’s time to schedule spring conferences. Please return the enclosed blue sheet as soon as possible. Time slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that you need to fill out the form, complete with three choices, before you will be added to the schedule.
We can’t wait to share information about your child’s progress with you!

We {Heart} 4K!

Monday we made a dragon for the  Chinese New Year. Did you know that this is the year of the snake? If your child was born in 2007 he/she was born in the year of the pig. 2008 was the year of the rat.

We made heart collages on Tuesday by gluing various hearts to our paper and then stamp-painted hearts on top using cookie cutters! It’s always fun to use objects in new ways. These are displayed in our classroom.

Wednesday we made a special valentine for you. Each one is completely unique and made with love. Be sure to look at the back side too :)

We had a great time on Thursday passing out our Valentine’s to each other.

Everyone’s mailboxes were decorated so wonderfully!

Thank you to everyone who brought in special treats/gifts!!!

Friday was a bonus day of school for us. We made another heart...no such thing as too many hearts or too much love, right? We used our fine motor skills to tear paper and glue it onto a heart shape because we “love you to pieces”.

Don't Forget
 No School, Thursday, February 28th.
We HAVE school on Friday, March 1st!

We Had a Terrible Week!

Did that title get your attention? Our theme this week was "Opposites". So in reality, we had the opposite of a terrible week. It was another great week!

On Monday we added a page to our Person Book and the improvement in drawing details is A-MA-ZING!!

We made an edible porcupine after reading the book called, A Porcupine Named Fluffy on Tuesday.

In recognition of Groundhog Day this past weekend, we made groundhogs complete with shadow. Your child can decide if the groundhog sees his/her shadow or not to determine how much longer our winter will be.

Thursday we made a day/night project using our fine motor skills to cut out circles and glue on small pieces of paper. We also wore our PJs to school as part of our opposite week!

Don't Forget to send in valentines with your child's name on them (not the names of classmates) and your child's mailbox by Wednesday, January 13th. Our party is on Thursday the 14th.

We HAVE school on FRIDAY, February 15th!
It's a 5-Day week.
So getting extra sleep for the long week would be helpful :)>

Busy Weeks!

So sorry we have not had a chance to update the blog in the last few weeks!
Here's what has been going on:

The week of January 21st our theme was Fun in Winter. We had an igloo in our dramatic play area and made a colorful ice sculpture inside our classroom since it was too cold for us to go outside and build the big one.
Bundled Up In The Igloo

We also made to adorable snowmen decorations that we used for our winter sing.

The Week of January 28th our theme was Polar Pals. We made some cute water bottle penguins, cardinals that are decorating our hallway, and the snow globe portraits that decorated the Winter Sing.

Notice the tree bark-it was fun to use texture plates!

We enjoyed our Winter Sing on January 31st as well! It was so much fun to be up on the stage and the center of attention :) We hope you enjoyed the show!!!!
