Growing

This week we learned about how things grow.  Plants come from seeds, bulbs, seedlings. We also talked about how much "we" have grown and that we used to be a baby. 
Hope your bean seeds from our "green houses" are sprouting.  You can plant them in soil and take them outside when the weather allows.

We painted flowers with our fingertips on Tuesday. These you will get to see in May!

Wednesday, we scientifically labeled the parts of a flower and practiced our cutting, coloring, and tried writing some words.  Check out our hallway!

We finished up our week making some fun garden gnomes that are decorating the room.

Rootin' Tootin' Good Time

Must have had difficulty uploading all these pictures!! I just realized this didn't publish.

We've rounded up a ton of fun these past two weeks.  We started the week this week with cactus paintings.  First we laid on our tummies and colored our desert backgrounds, then we went to the table and painted spines on our cacti with forks.

We kicked up our heels our heels on Tuesday, coloring cowboy boots with colored pencils, trying really hard to stay in the lines.  Then we added bling by gluing on buttons and sequins.

Wednesday, we used large markers to color cowboy hats.  Then we had to cut on the lines.

Thursday, we colored rattlesnakes with crayons and then cut them out.

Billy Goats Gruff

Coloring, cutting, gluing and more!  We keep on building our skills with these activities.  I hope you enjoyed our retelling props for our theme.  Making goats, ogre/trolls, and even the bridge.

Three Javelinas VS. Three Pigs

We had a rootin' tootin' good time reading about the Three Little Pigs and their hairy southwestern cousins, the Javelina's.  On Monday we created our person book page for the booklet.  Tuesday we cut and put together a book about the Three Little Pigs.  I hope you enjoy the story...

Wednesday we made the BIG BAD WOLF.   We had to really build our hand strength tearing all the paper strips.

Thursday we finished the week with a bean mosaic armadillo.  We colored and then used our finger tips to glue beans and noodles on it.

 

We really have enjoyed learning about the South West, the desert and the desert animals.  We hope you enjoy some of our pictures!!!
