Our Year is Coming to an End

We started the week with a field trip to the big school! We were able to sit in on a 5K class and tour the gym, music room, art room, lunch area, office and more! It was VERY exciting!!!

It was P - Puzzle Day at the big school. We helped 5K friends with puzzles.
Our morning class enjoyed a special visit to Mrs. Foskett's (Nash's Mom) 5th Grade Classroom

The 5th graders made each of the 4K visitors a special placemat for snack.

We even got to explore the playground!

It was soooo much fun!
We look forward to hanging out at the big school next year!

Tuesday we made a giraffe page for our animal book and talked about tall, taller, tallest.

On Wednesday, we discussed how our elephant’s trunk was long, longer, longest. And, if we had enough time, we also made a rhinoceros page for our book, featuring big, bigger, biggest.

We colored the cover of our animal book on Thursday and assembled it. Be sure to have your child show you how it’s interactive parts work!

Have a fun & safe holiday weekend...we will see you on Tuesday!

A Camping We Will Go...

We talked about camping this week and we even have a tent set up right in our classroom, which we all LOVE!
Morning Pajama Campers
Afternoon Pajama Campers

Monday we made tents which are now decorating our classroom.

We completed the final page of our Person Book on Tuesday...just wait until you see the final product at graduation!

We also made I Spy bottles. Can you spy the insects, beads, leaves, paperclip, Q-tip, crayon and more?

We changed the planned project on Wednesday and completed our Mother’s Day gift. Did you love it?

Thursday was our awesome pajama camp out. We made a camp-themed picture frame and enjoyed s’mores!!! YUM!

ZOO TRIP REMINDER
We will be going to the Henry Vilas zoo in Madison next week on Wednesday, May 16th for the AM class & Thursday, May 17th for the PM class.
Please have your child to the school between 8:25am-8:30am. We will be leaving at 8:35 SHARP! Also, no early drop offs—teachers will not be here.
We will return to school at 2:30pm. If someone other than a parent is picking up your child, we will need to know who that person is.
Remember there is no bus transportation to or from school that day & the day your child’s class is
not going on the trip, they DO NOT HAVE SCHOOL.
Your child should be dressed for the day’s weather (including rain, if needed) and have good walking shoes – no sandals please!
He/she will also need a disposable, sack lunch  and a full, disposable water bottle, both clearly labeled with his/her name.

Ponds & Meadows

On Monday we did a lot of paper tearing to cover the shells of our turtles. We also cut out the turtle’s body...it was a big day for our small motor skills!

We made frog shaped May Day baskets on Tuesday. We even received surprise treats in them!

Wednesday was our favorite project! We used watercolor paints to decorate our very own wooden snake. It even slithers!!! Has your child scared you with their snake yet?

Thursday we celebrated Cinco de Mayo (the 5th of May) by making a windsock. The date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride, and to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War.

Don't forget to turn in your child's zoo permission slip if you haven't already!!
