We Heart this Week

On Monday we worked on a three part pattern with hearts. Some of our friends need help with patterning, you can work on patterning at home when opportunities arise such as snack time.
We had so much fun giving/receiving valentines with friends on Tuesday. We also enjoyed many yummy treats, thank you to those who sent these in! You can check out our cute mailboxes on our Photo Gallery Page .
Wednesday we created heart collages. These projects are a favorite because the kids are creating similar yet unique projects.

On Thursday we worked with paint to create a hand-print heart tree. These works of art are decorating our classroom.

A Furry Fun 4K Week

Monday we drew our self portraits for our Person Books. The kids have been including much more detail in their pictures.
Tuesday we worked on cutting and sorting. We made our projects on the floor to work our tummy muscles. This is hard work!

We brought the paint out on Wednesday and used Q-tips to create an iguana. The Q-tips we used had to be opened like a band-aid. This was great fine-motor work.

Thursday we made adorable hamsters in a ball. Did you just love them?!?!
REMINDER: Our Valentine Party is on Tuesday Feb. 14th. If you haven't sent in your Valentine mailbox or valentines, please do so ASAP.

There are so many opposites that we've talked about this week. It made for a week full of learning! We made a porcupine after reading the book called, A Porcupine Named Fluffy on Monday. This required strong fingers to hold our paper plates closed and cut small snips.

On Tuesday we brought out the paint to make opposite masterpieces. We painted with white paint on black paper and black paint on white paper. There were many creative opposites painted, these are hanging up around our classroom.

Wednesday’s project was an opposite memory game. We worked hard to color our pictures and we enjoy playing this game time and time again!

Thursday we used stickers to show a jar that is empty and a jar that is full. This required a lot of fine motor skill, peeling stickers can be hard!

Please remember that Valentine boxes and Valentines are due next Thursday. We've enjoyed the creative boxes that have been brought in so far!
