Our Busy Week

We talked about camping this week. Monday we made a tent and campfire using our fine motor skills to cut, fold, and crumple.

On Tuesday we took a field trip to the big school! We were able to sit in on a 5K class and tour the gym, music room, art room, lunch area, office and more. We even got to play on the playground! It was VERY exciting!!!

On Wednesday, we added trees and a sleeping bag to our camp out pictures.  We even drew ourselves in the sleeping bag! These camping scenes are on display in our classroom and hallway.

We made self-portraits that will be on display at the graduation ceremony on Thursday. Be sure to take this portrait home with you after the ceremony.

Have a great holiday weekend...we will see you on Tuesday!

Graduation is next Thursday!

We Went to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo...

We had a great time at the zoo last week! Our class was very well behaved and that made us so proud!! Thank you very much to all the volunteers who generously donated their time to chaperone our trip. We couldn't have done it without you! Please be sure to check our Photo Gallery Page for pictures of the fun trips we had.

Pond, Meadows & Cinco de Mayo Too!

We talked about Cinco de Mayo as well as Ponds and Meadows this week. We even have our own restaurant called La Casita Mexicana! We can order tacos, fajitas, and more.

Monday we completed the final page of our Person Book...just wait until you see the final product at graduation!

We painted wooden snakes on Tuesday. They even slither!! Wednesday we created turtles from rocks, felt and buttons. We made frog puppets on Thursday.

We also completed our Mother’s Day gift this week but we can’t tell you about it...you will just have to wait until Sunday to see it!

Zoo Trip Next Week!!

We will be going to the Henry Vilas zoo in Madison next week on Wednesday, May 15th for the AM class & Thursday, May 16th for the PM class.
Please have your child to the school between 8:25am-8:30am. We will be leaving at 8:35 SHARP! Also, no early drop offs—teachers will not be here.
We will return to school at 2:30pm. If someone other than a parent is picking up your child, we will need to know who that person is.
Remember there is no bus transportation to or from school that day & the day your child’s class is
not going on the trip, they DO NOT HAVE SCHOOL.

Your child should be dressed for the day’s weather (including rain, if needed) and have good walking shoes – no sandals please!
He/she will also need a disposable, sack lunch  and a full, disposable water bottle, both clearly labeled with his/her name.

5K Fieldtrip/Tour
We are going to visit 5K on May 21st during our class time. We will get to see what the “big school” is all about. We will get to tour the school, including our 5K classrooms, have a snack, play on the playground & review the safety rules that are a part of playing on the big playground.

For those not planning to have their child attend Edgerton School District, you may choose not to have your child attend class this day. But please do call & let us know that your child will not be attending.  884-6162. Please complete the yellow permission slip.

Due to our field trips next week, there will be NO red folder/newsletter. We will try to get zoo photos on the blog over the weekend.

Once Upon a Time...

This week we talked about Fairy Tales. Some were traditional stories and some were spoofs of the classic versions.
Monday we read two versions of Billy Goats Gruff and made a paper-plate billy goat of our own. These are hung up around our room.

Tuesday we heard the story of Little Red Riding Hood and made a May Day basket to give someone on May 1st.

We made practiced naming colors on Wednesday as we added mattresses to the bed for The Princess and the Pea game. Have you played this with your child yet?

Thursday we heard the story of Puss in Boots and made our own puppet to retell the story.

We still need chaperones for our MORNING class trip to the Zoo. If you can join us on Wednesday, May 15th, please let Mrs. Fox or Mrs. Crandall know ASAP! 4k@creativeartsclass.net 884-6162

Have a great weekend!
