Ponds & Meadows

On Monday we did a lot of paper tearing to cover the shells of our turtles. We also cut out the turtle’s body...it was a big day for our small motor skills!

We made frog shaped May Day baskets on Tuesday. We even received surprise treats in them!

Wednesday was our favorite project! We used watercolor paints to decorate our very own wooden snake. It even slithers!!! Has your child scared you with their snake yet?

Thursday we celebrated Cinco de Mayo (the 5th of May) by making a windsock. The date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride, and to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War.

Don't forget to turn in your child's zoo permission slip if you haven't already!!

We will be going to the Henry Vilas zoo in Madison next week on Wednesday, May 16th for the AM class & Thursday, May 17th for the PM class.

Please have your child to the school between 8:25am-8:30am. We will be leaving at 8:35 SHARP! Also, no early drop offs—teachers will not be here.

We will return to school at 2:30pm. If someone other than a parent is picking up your child, we will need to know who that person is.

Remember there is no bus transportation to or from school that day & the day your child’s class is not going on the trip, they DO NOT HAVE SCHOOL.

Your child should be dressed in layers for the day’s weather (including rain, if needed) and have good walking shoes – no sandals/flip-flops please! He/she will also need a disposable, sack lunch clearly labeled with his/her name and a full, labeled, disposable water bottle.

Have a great weekend!
