Week  of the Young Child - Tasty Tuesday - Share your cooking and eating pictures!
Tasty Tuesday is April 25, 2017! This fun, food-themed day is about more than just cheese and crackers. Cooking together connects math with literacy skills, science, and more. Create your own healthy snacks and share the recipes and photos of your creations on NAEYC's Facebook page or post to Twitter using the hashtag #woyc17.

Decide on a menu - try something new or make a family favorite.  Have your children help measure, cut safely, and clean up.  Cooking is great for math, science, hand eye coordination and so much more!

April 13 The Week of the Young Child - The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Snake Project
Week of the Young Child 2018 – The Learning Gardens
This week along with our  Three Billy Goats Gruff  theme We are also going to celebrate the week of the young child
The purpose of the Week of the Young Child™ is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
NAEYC first established the Week of the Young Child™ in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life. The Week of the Young Child™ is a time to plan how we—as citizens of a community, of a state, and of a nation—will better meet the needs of all young children and their families.
Today we know more than ever before about the importance of children's earliest years in shaping their learning and development. Yet, never before have the needs of young children and their families been more pressing.
The Week of the Young Child™ is a time to recognize that children's opportunities are our responsibilities, and to recommit ourselves to ensuring that each and every child experiences the type of early environment—at home, at child care, at school, and in the community—that will promote their early learning.

Thursday, April 9 - Southwest - Snake

I have added April's person drawing page, down by snake project.  The kids have worked really hard all year creating a book of drawings and I would like to finish it with them, so we have this month and May to do.  We missed March, but that will be a memory some day to share of why we didn't have school then
