Foods Around the World

We enjoyed our short week after last week’s long one! This week we talked about foods around the world. We even had three restaurant play areas--Italian, Mexican & Chinese.

Tuesday we made a pizza counting/matching game for our Italian-themed day. Did you play it with your child yet? Simply choose a pizza slice from the bag and find the match on the pizza.

We made a shape taco on Wednesday-our Mexican day.  We like using fun ways to reinforce colors, shapes and numbers!!

Chinese was our theme on Thursday and we made fortune cookies. We selected a fortune to put inside and laced it up.

Next week are back to our regularly-scheduled 4 day, Monday-Thursday week. Yay!!

Snow Much Fun!

This week was all about snow. Monday we read “The Snowy Day” and made a picture using our fine-motor skills to tear paper for the background. These pictures are formed into a decorative “quilt” that is in our hallway.

Tuesday we painted a snowman and added buttons for fun features. We worked on sizing to make another snowman on Wednesday.

Thursday we created an awesome Olaf bag. We wrapped up our long week with a snowman snowglobe. We also did a number of special snow-themed activities since we had an extra day this week including some polar bear and penguin yoga which we just LOVED!
