Our Royal Week

We enjoyed being royal this week. Monday we read about The Knight and the Dragon and watercolored a dragon of our own. Tuesday we made our knight helmets and armor and we read about a girl knight. On Wednesday we made fancy, bejeweled crowns.

We wrapped up the week on Thursday with our Royal Tea Party that we dressed up for using our knight helmets, jeweled crowns and other royal attire. We had delicious peanut butter and jelly “tea sandwiches” and juice “tea”. More pictures can be found on our Photo Gallery Page.

Valentine's Day / Friendship Party

We will be having our Friendship Party during class on Thursday, February 13th. Please have your child write ONLY his/her name on each valentine. This will make the passing out process much less complicated!  Start sending as soon as your child is finished writing their name. We have 18 friends in each class.
You are welcome to send special treats/snacks that day. We recommend take-home goody bags or non-sugary snacks as we usually receive plenty of cupcakes, cookies, etc.

Don’t forget to make your own Mailbox and bring it in by February 12th!

Contact Information Update

We have had several instances lately in which we need to reach a child’s parent and/or emergency  contact, only to find out that the phone number(s) we had no longer work. We MUST be able to reach you in case of an emergency and to confirm  absences as required by law.
If the contact information for you or your emergency contacts has changed since the beginning of the year, please get the new info. to us ASAP!

Welcome Back!

Well, after our extra long break, it's good to be back. A little difficult, but nice to get back to our regular schedule! We hope you all had a fabulous break!!!

This week we made our January page for our Person Book. We got to draw ourselves wearing our winter/snow clothes and add items like snowflakes and snowmen to our illustrations.

Thursday we used up our old glue bottles when we made snowmen from puddles of glue. These creations are still drying so they will come home with your child next week.

Our bonus day on Friday we made ourselves all bundled up like Eskimos. Very fitting for this winter!

Please be sure to check your child's red folder for all the extra notes that were sent home this week. There is one about the FREE Moovin' & Groovin' Event on January 18th, another about Child Development Days and a third note that you can pass along to anybody you know in the district that will have a 4K kiddo next year.

Also, we have photos from our Holiday Book Exchange on the Photo Gallery page now.

Have a great weekend!
