This is How Our Garden Grows...

This week we talked about gardening. On Monday we planted seeds in our mini-greenhouses. These are hanging in our windows. We hope to see the seeds sprout within the next few weeks. Tuesday we visited K&W Greenery in Janesville where we learned all about growing flowers & how to care for plants.

Be sure to read this week's newsletter for all the details on our zoo trip. IMPORTANT! - You're child will attend a FULL day on the day of his/her trip. He/she does NOT HAVE SCHOOL on the day we take the other class.

Howdy Y'all!

Our Southwest unit has been a lot of fun!  We cut & colored our own cowboy hats on Monday.
Tuesday was a time consuming project!

We glued noodles and beans to a picture of an armadillo. It took a lot of time and patience but they all turned out to be wonderfully unique creations.

We made adorable horses on Wednesday that are now on display in our hallway.

And enjoyed s'mores!!

Thursday we made our choice of a cowboy or cowgirl puppet. There were many steps including coloring, cutting, and lots of gluing.

Our cowboy/cowgirl dress-up day was a blast! All our “pardners” are displayed on the photo gallery page in their finest western gear.

Mosying in the Southwest

Our Southwest unit is a lot of fun!

We are galloping, mosying, trotting, yee hawing, giddyuping and talking about snakes, javelinas, coyotes, and cacti.

We painted a cactus on Monday using forks! These are hanging around our room to add to the desert-like atmosphere.

We made stained glass coyote silhouette suncatchers on Tuesday. Did you hang yours up yet?
Wanted Posters of each of us were created on Wednesday.  We really used our fine motor skills on Thursday to lace up a cowboy boot and then crumple up paper to stuff in it. That was a lot of work pardner!

Don't forget about the Children's Fair THIS Saturday from 9:30-11:30am at the Community Elementary School.
It's FREE and fun!
Lots of crafts to make and activities to watch and do.

Spring Has Sprung!

Well despite the wintery weather earlier in the week, spring has sprung in our classroom! On Monday we created the April page of our Person Book.

Tuesday we read the book called In the Rain with Baby Duck. We made our own baby ducks to decorate our room.  Complete with boots and umbrella just like the baby duck in the story who did not like to get wet.

We made umbrellas on Wednesday which involved cutting and gluing. We then got to finger paint raindrops. Can you believe this was the first time we finger painted all year?

We stamp painted a rainbow with cotton balls. These beautiful creations are now decorating our hallway.

Spring and Graduation Pictures on April 25th

We forgot to add the pose selection sheets to the red folders this week, so they will be in next week's folder. We will only take photos of the children who have returned their selection sheets by April 25th.

Please have your child dressed & hair combed ready for pictures, as we do not have time to primp each child.

We will also be taking graduation portraits and a group photo. All children will have a graduation session. You will have the opportunity to preview all pictures before making any purchases.

Here is a sample of what the graduation pictures will look like.
