Wow! This was a VERY busy week!

This week we talked about gardening. On Monday we painted clay pots, do you just love the creativity displayed in the pot your child brought home?

Tuesday was picture day...that is always cause for excitement, but getting to wear our graduation caps and gowns, really made it fun! Next week we will start rehearsing for our ceremony. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for May 31st at 6pm.

Wednesday we made a special flower, but you will have to wait until next month to see it. We also visited Edgerton Floral & Garden Center where we learned all about growing flowers & how to care for plants. We even got to do our own planting!

Thursday we planted seeds. We can’t wait to see what grows!!!

Fractured Fairy Tales

We read lots of different fairy tales this week. They were all different versions of the classic fairy tales we are familiar with. Some of them were very funny!

On Monday, we read about the Three Billy Goats Gruff and made our own bridge. We then paint stamped with animals to make tracks over the bridge. Some friends even drew trolls under the bridge!

We made a Little Red Riding Hood puppets after reading three different versions of the tale. Ask your child to use the puppet to perform one of the stories for you :)

Wednesday we made a Big, Bad Wolf. The paper-tearing required a lot of small motor coordination.

Thursday we read The Interrupting Chicken. If you haven’t read this story before, we recommend you borrow it from the library. It’s very funny and kids love it! We then made a cute interrupting chicken using party blowers

Don't forget that next week, Tuesday is picture day. Everyone will be having graduation photos taken. Wednesday is our field trip to Edgerton Floral & Garden.

Springtime Fun!

On Monday we colored the April page for our Person Books. We got to use the new crayons that the Easter Bunny brought for us.

We made ducky in the rain pictures on Tuesday and these are displayed around our classroom. Feel free to stop in and see them!

Wednesday was a challenging project for us, as we had to roll down a paper lunch bag to make a nest for our birds. Aren't they adorable?!

You might have noticed your child's tie-dyed hands on Thursday. We finally made a modified version of our ice sculpture by using colored ice cubes to make individual sculptures. It was cold and colorful fun!!!
